Bathroom Mirror Cabinet

Customers can order a bathroom mirror cabinet from Glossy Home to their dimensions. As space can be less than some homes, the cabinets are a great space saving solution.

Aluminium frames support the mirror panel. Only a small strip of frame is visible at the edges of the doors.

The mirror surface integrates beautifully resulting in a modern feel to any bathroom.

1 shelf supplied for every 25cm of the cabinet height. A cabinet with a height of 120cm will therefore have 4 shelves (plus bottom of frame)

Available with single door and double door. Our doors have no handless to keep their sleek design. Slide your hand under the door and pull to open. It is essential to leave at least 4-5cm gap under the cabinet to allow doors top open.

Multiple units can be joined to create larger cabinet. To create a cabinet 180cm wide with 4 doors; purchase two 90cm units (2 doors).

Alternatively order one 120cm unit (2 doors) and one 60cm unit (single doors). Joining multiple bathroom cabinets also increases storage space.

It is essential that our cabinets are fixed with the wall rail supplied to ensure safe and proper use.

When installed bathroom mirror cabinets can be finally adjusted. (Up to 5mm either upwards or downwards).

Fixtures & Fittings:

Wall Plugs and Screws are not supplied.

Purchase separately from a local retailer.

Fixtures also need to suit the wall type.

Delivery for Bathroom Mirror Cabinet:

Delivery usually takes around 4-8 weeks, however this can change on the rare occasion.

Before placing an order please check the dimensions of the product, so they can fit through passages, stairwells, landings and doorways.

Step-by-Step Fixing Instructions

Glossy Home Bathroom Wall Cabinets are mounted on a sturdy steel suspension rail not only ensures a strong installation, but also makes it easy to hang and level the cabinets.

BEFORE INSTALLATION:

Please check your wall (both visually and using a long spirit level) for any irregularities or uneven spots.
If units are installed in the corners please also check each corner using a right-angled wood panel.
There will be gaps between the wall and the panel if a right-angle isn’t maintained, therefore you may need to leave an appropriate gap to allow for these irregularities.

PREPARATION:

Measure the width of the cabinets to be installed

Measure along one wall and subtract approximately 42mm from the overall measurement. This will leave 21mm of space at each end to allow for the cabinet side wall (18mm) and slack for adjustments (3mm).
Cut the suspension rail to the required length using a hack saw. Alternatively break the rail if the desired length is close to or slightly shorter than the break area (pictured)

Determine the position of the suspension rail.

• The furniture brackets are adjustable in two directions:

Up and Down – Tighten the screw and the hook goes down, loosen and the cabinet goes up
Forward and Backward from the wall – Tighten the screw to shorten the hook –> pull the cabinet against the wall.

• Position rail against the wall & leave minimum 35mm gap between top of rail & ceiling.
• Use a spirit level to ensure that the rail is positioned horizontally.

Mark the level line for the suspension rail.

If hanging on a drywall, find the studs in the wall by tapping it. Ideally the studs should be used as fixing points for the suspension rail as they can bear more load than plasterboard alone.
Using a pencil, mark the positions of the holes in the wall. There should be at least two holes per each cabinet bracket (as close to bracket as possible). Select more holes on the wall to have a choice in case one of them is not aligned to holes in the rail.

FIXING THE RAIL:

Remove the rail from the wall and with the appropriate drill bits drill the holes and fit wall plugs.
Please make sure to use good quality heavy-duty wall plugs. Loaded cabinets are usually very heavy – the type of wall, number of wall plugs and their type and quality will significantly affect maximum load and your safety.
Secure the rail to previously inserted plugs.

HANGING THE CABINET

Before hanging the cabinet loosen the forward / backward bracket screw. The hook will lengthen and it will be easier to hang the cabinet.

You may also loosen the up / down screw so that the hook moves up. It will be easier to hang the cabinet in case the suspension rail is very close to the ceiling.

Lift the cabinet holding it from the bottom and gently hang on the suspension rail. You should be able to slide it on the rail and adjust its position if required.
Repeat the process if you have more cabinets to hang on the same rail.
PLEASE make sure that each cabinet bracket is hung on the rail.

Use a spirit level to adjust the position of the cabinet vertically and horizontally. Tighten / loosen the bottom screw in both brackets to lift the cabinet up / down. Tighten the screw in one bracket and loosen in the other to align the cabinet vertically.

Tighten the forward / backward screw to secure the cabinet against the wall. The cabinet should be tight against the wall but don’t overtighten as it will damage the bracket or suspension rail.

Good option for apartments – 27 December 2015

We live in small apartment in west London and although our bathroom is not really tiny it was impossible to add even small cabinet. After a lot of research we finally decided to replace large mirror with mirror cabinet and it worked just PERFECT!!! Huge storage space without adding any clunky piece of furniture.
There are small aluminium strips visible around each door (frames are mostly behind the mirrors) but it doesn´t distract from using is as usual mirror.
It took us nearly the whole day to hang two cabinets (the most difficult part is to drill holes in the wall for metal rails) but once done it is easy to hand the cabinets and attach and adjust the doors.
Anyway – definitely worth the effort!
